Fayetteville Generals
From 1988-1992, Matt Perry served as General Manager or President of the Fayetteville Generals, the Single A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, which played in the South Atlantic League. Perry oversaw all areas of team operations to include landlord, MLB and league relations, stadium maintenance, capital improvements, food and beverage operations, along with all sales and marketing functions. Perry also implemented a successful re-branding effort for the Generals, and supervised a major stadium renovation. Perry and Davidson retained an ownership interest in the team, which was sold in the 1990’s to a group that moved the team to Lakewood, New Jersey and into a new stadium.
