Midland Angels
(now Rockhounds)
From 1985-89, Bill Davidson served as General Manager of the Midland Angels, a Double A affiliate of the California Angels playing in the Texas League. During 1985-87, Matt Perry served as the Director of Operations for the team. The pair oversaw all areas of team operations to include landlord, MLB and league relations, stadium maintenance, capital improvements and food and beverage operations, along with all sales and marketing functions. The team showed consistent growth and profitability, including successfully hosting the Texas League All-Star game, leading to the franchise sale to a new ownership entity for a substantial gain to the prior owner.
